Damage to the tissues of the body is of common occurrence as a result of sport or exercise. This damage can be mild that can heal in short span of time just by rest or these can be severe requiring surgery to achieve optimum outcome and resumption of sporting activity. If a sportsperson sustains an injury while playing, he should immediately splint the extremity, put ice packs, take some pain killers and visit a sport medicine specialist for assessment of his injury as early as possible. Your doctor may advise you MRI scans to assess extent of injury for proper treatment. Types of sports injuries are:
